FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
February 8, 2021
VANCOUVER, British Columbia — When The Hot Potato Initiative was founded in 2016 by high school students, we started with one baked potato. Today, The Hot Potato Initiative and Coast Capital Savings are pleased to announce an official partnership to educate and engage young Canadians in the conversation about homelessness.
Since 2018, Coast Capital Savings has been a strong supporter of our organization, and has since allowed us to launch several projects that have reached hundreds of young people across Canada. Simply put, The Hot Potato Initiative could not be more excited for what is to come.
With this new partnership, youth from The Hot Potato Initiative will be provided with the financial support from Coast Capital Savings to pursue many of the organization’s projects in 2021. This funding will be invested in educational resources such as a video series, lesson plans, and research briefs to be distributed in high schools around the country.
We will see a day where all young Canadians critically engage with socioeconomic inequality and drive systemic change.
Thank you, Coast Capital Savings, for helping us make that day possible.
